Biography
Bailey McCarty articulates the unseen yet felt. Landscapes of emotion rise from the foundation of her exploits in life.
Shadows emerge to make themselves known; they are welcomed, seen, shown and allowed to live in the absence of light that they seek to reside.
It's okay to feel like a dark mark! Its okay to breathe in the sorrow! It's okay to think up a reason to cry; there will always be more!
Her writing has a humor, as a sardonic use of words or as an interjection– and also as an acknowledgement of her humanness.
She uses poetry as a vessel for connecting with challenging themes, many of which you see here being: blood, loss, yearning,
escaping and relating with others (as family, lovers, or torturers). Having studied English Literature in university capacity
and holding a B.A. in Political Science, many controversial political themes are explored in her work;
with this selection focusing on political, social and psychological violence.
