Shakespeare's Pen 2025/2026 – Winner for CANADA

On Mother's Day

She came with flowers in a purple pot,
Taking a small break from her busy day.
She brought me a cake with a rose on top,
Expressing best wishes for Mother’s Day.
I still remember my daughter’s first step,
Being made on the grass in our hometown.
She started walking while I held my breath.
Then, she was giggling and kept falling down. 
Her first word was not mama, it was grass
While she made many more steps in the park,
Continued walking and smiling with class,
Enjoying her day until it got dark.
When we had a cake and sipped Earl Grey tea,
Mother’s Day ended with the greatest glee!
