Poetry Contest #26 – First Place

Of this place, I am orange. I am golden hopes for light Following the contours of a rainforest, From afar, laughter flapping upwards. I breathe and creak underfoot. I am a blue wind, A green mountain, A wild eagle on a purple breeze, I flow in colour through every word And every word has the voice of the sea. As this place leaves me, Because I am leaving it, I am still. I await its ships. I have lost the friendship of the waves. The breath of the blue wind blows far away In a green mountain pass I can no longer name. I am poised between forests, Without colour, Etched on the eye of the air. Farewell, place I am.
